Zio Kids was started on the idea of making original, unique art and clothing geared towards kids. With Chris’ extensive experience in design and illustration and Sarah’s love of art and skill of being a small business owner with her other business Dear Margot, these two have started a product line that is whimsical and loved by children of all ages.
The name has a fun origin. Chris and Sarah’s nieces have always called Chris “Zio,” which means uncle in Italian. Initially, Chris founded the company and thought it was fitting to use an endearing name for it. After having their daughter last fall, Sarah decided to join in creating new designs and take on marketing. Being midwestern transplants but having lived in Colorado for over 16 years now, the couple lovingly uses Colorado as their inspiration in several of their designs.
All Zio Kids apparel is printed and made in the US in sweatshop-free conditions.
